Davy Jones, Sea Folklore, Original Drawing

£625.00

31 × 38.6cm or 12.2 × 15.1 inches | “The Red Thread of Fate” - pen and ink on cartridge paper.

I have always lived by the sea, always lived in a permanent state of salt-stained skin, and walking along the coast inevitably fuels my creativity as an artist.

This artwork is a result of such a walk.

Meticulously hand-drawn with the fine pen nibs and paintbrushes, I wanted this piece to quietly invite you to take a closer look, for you to slowly take note of the objects that hint at this tale, at the connection of these two seafaring creatures. To note the red ribbon, the pieces of gold and the barnacle covers coat of the otherworldly figure. In the accompanying story folk card, you will learn what led a young woman to make a deal with a monster.

Measuring 31 × 38.6 cm (artwork is 14.8 × 21cm), this original inked artwork is a one-of-a-kind piece housed in a black frame. Signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a folklore story card that tells the tale of this piece.
